A little further afield lie many attractions to suit all types: why not make the journey into neighbouring Lambourn and join the stable tours?  Or walk along the Kennet and Avon canal to Kintbury? Drive to nearby Marlborough (great for the jazz festival)  and go for a walk in Savernake forest. Those with a penchant for walks may like to walk  to Combe Gibbet and climb the fort or walk the 15 miles to Bucklebury – where the book Watership Down is based.

Especially entertaining is Newbury Racecourse , which as well as the racing including the famous Newbury Winter Festival, also offers themed weekends and concerts. Those who are looking for something a little different, why not book horse riding at Little Hidden Farm , and go for a trek through the wild and rare flowers? The Flower Farms at Shalbourne are worth a visit and for those excited by machinery, the Crofton Pumping Station and The Wilton Windmill  are a must.

Nature abounds here with plenty to keep all generations enthralled. The Thatcham Nature Discovery Centre is within 30 mins drive as is the Children’s Action Farm and the Living Rain Forest.

Art and Culture are prevelant in our area with The Watermill Theatre offering plays and poetry readings; reading and book signings in Hungerford’s bookshops as well as in Newbury and Marlborough. Film nights, C&W dancing nights, local Beer festivals, Carnivals, Concerts  – pop, rock, folk, classical – are all to be found, as well as the famous Victorian Extravaganza!. Hungerford also boasts its own Art Festival , with local and national artist and groups.
